Hatmill is recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ 2026 by Great Place To Work®, marking its fourth consecutive year in the rankings and reflecting its employee-owned, self-managing culture.
UK’s Best Workplaces™ 2026 recognition
Announced at the prestigious Best Workplaces Awards at London’s Grosvenor House, this marks the fourth consecutive year Hatmill has appeared in the rankings. In 2025 the company was named the UK’s Best Workplace and also received awards recognising its commitment to employee wellbeing, development and professional services.
Hatmill’s distinctive self-managing culture and employee-owned structure are key reasons behind its continued success. According to the Great Place To Work survey, 100% of Hatmill employees say it is a great place to work, compared to 54% at a typical UK-based company.
The ranking follows a rigorous independent survey and assessment process involving employee feedback and workplace culture analysis, with Hatmill competing against a range of well-known national brands.
One Hatmill colleague said:
“Having full autonomy as self-managing teams means we are singularly focused on delivering excellent client outcomes. We’ve removed much of the usual workplace politics to create an environment where people can bring their whole selves to work and feel a real sense of purpose.
The employee-owned nature of the business is also unique. It means everyone feels part of the decisions that shape the business and shares in its success – something you rarely see outside of executive or ownership levels in other organisations.”
Simon Dixon, Founder and CEO of Hatmill, said:
“I’m incredibly proud that Hatmill has once again been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces. When people genuinely enjoy their work, they produce the best results, particularly for our clients. Hatmill has always been built around the idea that great work happens when people feel trusted, supported and able to be themselves. Consulting can be demanding, but our team brings huge energy, expertise and a lot of humour to what we do every day.
Creating a great place to work is central to building a successful business, and this recognition is a credit to the entire Hatmill team.”

“Year after year, it’s truly inspiring to witness a growing number of organisations earn a spot on our UK’s Best Workplaces List. We’ve seen an increase yet again in Trust Index scores which means the bar has been raised and this accreditation is a significant and tremendous accomplishment. The UK’s Best Workplaces excel in creating consistently great experiences for all employees through fostering high levels of trust, pride and camaraderie to fuel increased organisational performance. These crucial elements collectively contribute to creating cultures where employees feel they can truly be themselves and thrive in a supportive and caring environment. Congratulations to Hatmill for achieving a place on our 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces List.”
Great Place To Work performed rigorous evaluations of hundreds of employee survey responses alongside Culture Audit™ submissions from leaders at each company to create the 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces List. They then used these data insights to benchmark the effectiveness of companies’ employee value propositions against the culture their employees actually experience. Only those businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces status.
