Five years of being a Great Place to Work

We’re delighted to have been officially certified as a Great Place to Work® for 2026/27, marking our fifth consecutive certification since we first took part in 2022.

Great Place to Work certification is based on feedback from the people who work here, making it an important independent measure of how our culture is experienced day to day.

And this year’s results gave us plenty to be proud of.

Our people make Hatmill a great place to work

In our 2026 Great Place to Work Trust Index™ survey, 100% of respondents said that, taking everything into account, Hatmill is a great place to work.

Our overall average across all survey statements was 99%, up from 97% in 2025.

Other results included:

  • 100% would strongly endorse Hatmill to friends and family as a great place to work
  • 100% said they can be themselves at Hatmill
  • 100% said they want to work here for a long time
  • 100% said people can be counted on to cooperate
  • 100% said management trusts people to do a good job without watching over their shoulders
  • 100% said they are offered training or development to further themselves professionally

But numbers only tell part of the story.

When we asked what makes Hatmill a great place to work, the same themes appeared again and again: people, trust, freedom, autonomy, support, collaboration and culture.

One member of the team described it as:

“Hatmill is a place where capable people are trusted to do great work, take real ownership and shape both the client outcome and the business around them, without having to leave our personalities at the door.”

Another highlighted the balance between autonomy and support:

“You’re trusted to make decisions, take ownership and do a great job, but there’s always someone there to support you if you need it.”

Five certifications – and a culture that keeps evolving

Hatmill has grown and changed considerably since our first Great Place to Work certification in 2022.

What hasn’t changed is our commitment to creating an environment where capable people are trusted to use their judgement, have the freedom to work in the way that brings out their best, and know that support is there when they need it.

As an employee-owned business, everyone has a stake in Hatmill’s success and a voice in how we continue to develop. We work without traditional hierarchy, job titles or individual sales targets, with a shared focus on doing the right thing for our clients, our colleagues and the business.

Achieving our fifth consecutive Great Place to Work certification is something we’re very proud of. More importantly, the feedback behind it tells us that the culture we’ve worked hard to build continues to be felt by the people who experience it every day.

Thank you to everyone at Hatmill who continues to shape it.
