On time, or not, that is the question
In many ways, logistics is like a theatre show, particularly when we think about operational and transport planning. Paddy MacBrant explains why.
I work with clients to design, procure and install automation solutions in their warehouses or optimise their current systems. I joined Hatmill in July 2021 having previously worked in automation project management and solution design with experience in MF/1 contract management
I am a mechanical engineer and started my career in quality engineering for a manufacturing company supplying the Ministry of Defence with bespoke systems for pipelines. I have a strong maths background having worked in maths education and on education initiative projects involving data tracking and analytics. I particularly enjoyed working on projects through the lifecycle of design, delivery and then tracking results.
Working as an automation engineer for Logistics Engineering Services, I supported clients through conception, RFP, business case creation and detailed design with a range of vendors for their logistics automation projects. My work included solution designs for a large UK retailer on their eCommerce network and on technologies including dense storage and pocket and packing systems.
Before joining Hatmill I worked as a Project Manager for Dematic delivering a mix of both upgrades to existing and new automation installations. I have delivered projects involving a wide range of technologies on both green field and brown field sites and as a principal contractor.
