Hatmill supports The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing Institute on International Nurses Day

Introducing QICN

Hatmill has donated 1% of its profits to five deserving charities, chosen by the team.

In the third blog, shining a spotlight on the charities we’re supporting this financial year, Will Thomson, shares more about the charity he put forward:

Will says...

The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) is a registered charity dedicated to improving the nursing care of people in the home and community. It was founded in 1887. They promote excellent nursing care for everyone, where and when they need it, provided by nurses and their teams with specific skills and knowledge.

Nurses carry out a huge range of vital work with patients in the community. Many people would be unable to live at home without the support that they get from community nurses and their teams. Community nurses deliver care in people’s homes, communities, GP surgeries and clinics every day and do vital outreach work.

When my mother-in-law was terminally ill, the community nurses from The QICN were an invaluable resource to my family. They were available at all hours and provided professionalism and support to us all at a tough time. Thanks to Hatmill’s donation, the charity will be able to support more families and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to nominate such a deserving charity close to my heart.

The donation from Hatmill will support The QICN champion high standards, provide professional development, strengthen their voice in influencing national policy and advocate for the future of nursing in the community and primary care.

Hatmill’s donation directly contributes to empowering and supporting nurses, improving care and making a lasting difference in communities.

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. At Hatmill, we’re proud to commemorate this important day.
