Katie Nickmans

I joined Hatmill in 2021 following 10 years of experience as an analyst in various fields and sectors. I have experience in consulting roles to a wide range of public and private clients across Europe. Within Hatmill my focus is working with data to derive meaningful models, insights, and visualisations to help clients explore and evaluate scenarios to make better decisions.

Applying my broad previous experience and analytical aptitude to provide data analysis, insights and visualisations to enable better business decisions.

I have a bachelors degree in economics and French from the University of Leeds, and masters degree in the economic analysis of law from Hamburg, Bologna and Aix-en-Provence Universities. After completing an internship at the European Commission in the Health and Consumer Directorate General I gained experience in consulting roles to a wide range of public and private clients across Europe with PwC Belgium and EY Netherlands. I followed on to work as an analyst for private investors seeking to grow their portfolio through acquisition. This involved analysis of potential businesses to acquire, and identification of areas for growth and increased efficiency post-acquisition.

Some of my key experience since joining Hatmill includes:

  • Analysis and visual mapping of the global network of volume flows of a multinational chemical company to identify centres of gravity and build a basis for identifying opportunities for rationalisation and efficiency gains in the supply chain
  • Modelling of a national retailers warehouse inventory to identify opportunities for more efficient stock holding policies, reduction in working capital and space creation within the warehouse
  • Supporting the people and change workstream of the NHS covid vaccine initiative to facilitate a smooth transition from a consultant run operation to a new NHS led organisation
  • Conducting an industry benchmarking study to provide 3PLs and consumer goods providers with insights on their performance against their peers in terms of people KPI data

Working alongside the accomplished team of Hatmill consultants on the wide range of interesting work our clients entrust to us makes Hatmill a great place to be.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
