On time, or not, that is the question
In many ways, logistics is like a theatre show, particularly when we think about operational and transport planning. Paddy MacBrant explains why.
I joined Hatmill in 2018 after having spent the majority of my career to date working for Europe’s largest discount food retailer. During that time, I have worked in Sales, Supply Chain and Warehousing & Logistics roles at both regional and national level.
Since joining Hatmill, I have supported clients across a variety of sectors in multiple roles. Initial roles included leading and implementing process improvement initiatives through to a full warehouse transition for a multinational PLC in Eastern Europe. During the pandemic, I was very proud to have been an integral part of the team setting up both the new PPE and Vaccine supply chains for the DHSC and NHS during the Covid-19 crisis. More recently, I have supported clients in their business transformation journeys including new warehouse design modelling, programme management for supply chain optimisation and in-depth analysis of logistics planning structures.
Before joining Hatmill I fulfilled many roles in the FMCG sector, including implementing 15% opex reduction through improved transport planning, headcount planning, absence & fluctuation reduction and lean process improvements; managing multiple key internal stakeholders in the development of three new regional distribution centres through their design, build and fit-out phases; responsible for full operational continuation through a 12 month DC expansion and reconfiguration programme; being site general manager for a multi temperature food distribution warehouse with over 300 personnel.
