Jayne Metcalfe

I joined the Hatmill team in 2022 having gained over 20 years of end-to-end supply chain experience, with blue chip FMCG companies, in senior supply chain positions, across permanent, interim, and project-based roles. My experience means I can bring both customer and supplier perspectives to my work which leads to better business solutions.

Highly experienced, with expertise in S&OP, customer service, customer relationship management, customer supply chain development, system implementations and leading teams through significant business change.

I started my career in pharmaceutical and then food sales roles and then moved to an LSP initially as Business Development Manager for 3 sites, moving in to operational, account management and customer service roles.

An opportunity came up to move to HJ Heinz to lead the customer service and logistics operations for four Northern Europe markets based in The Netherlands. My role at Heinz progressed into a European Logistics development role and then into responsibility for the supply chain customer relationships with all UK customers, including all major retail, wholesale and food service customers.

From Heinz I moved to RHM which became Premier Foods and performed different roles in the business for Customer Logistics and Customer Supply Chain through to Demand and Supply planning and the purchasing of all bought in finished goods, across the ambient grocery, sweet treats, and export divisions.

Following on from Premier, I had senior supply chain roles at Greencore Food to Go, Greene King, and Dechra pharmaceuticals, before making the move in to consulting around 4 years ago.

Throughout my career, I have delivered inventory reductions, improvement in customer service, cost savings, process improvements, developed routes to market, implemented S&OP and been part of numerous system implementations

Key elements of all my roles have been leading and managing teams through change, team development and mentoring, by creating an open and supportive working environment.

The thing I enjoy the most about consulting is seeing the change you can enable and deliver in businesses and then leaving them with a sustainable solution to enable them to move forward.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
