Dave Anakotta

I joined Hatmill in 2023  following over 25 years experience in logistics (b2b, b2c), manufacturing and the employment business. I have worked in several disciplines with different roles and positions, which include supply chain management, operations management, quality management, customer service, commerce and HRM.

I specialise in project roles that combines change, process improvement and people management.

My interest and experience in logistical processes and optimizing processes have evolved from the moment I started to work at Randstad (a temporary employment agency) in the Rotterdam harbour area. After working in aerospace manufacturing, I worked at CB. CB is the logistics service provider for the book industry in the Netherlands and Belgium, serving publishers and book retailers in retail and e-commerce. CB also provides logistics services for medical devices.

Some of my career project highlights

  • Customer implementation of international scientific and educational clients (annual revenue €2,500K) operating at the intersection of commerce, ICT, and project.
  • Successfully Operational responsible for establishing and implementing nationwide distribution, transportation and support for LCH (National Crisis Consortium for personal protective equipment for healthcare during the Covid-19 pandemic).
  • Developed and implemented a multi-channel strategy based on customer journeys.
  • Developed and implemented centralized forecasting and capacity planning (S&OP), resulting in over 10% reduction in workforce hours in the first 2 years.
  • Managed procurement of flexible labor (in-house, +€200K), external transportation (B2C e-commerce, +€3,000K), and packaging materials (€3,000K), achieving savings of less than 10% and TCO app. 8%.
  • Successfully adjusted service framework (extended order deadline from 17:00 to 23:00) as a project manager, reducing lead time for internet fulfillment using Lean Six Sigma tools without additional personnel costs.
  • Provided insights into time allocations per activity to enhance productivity by designing and implementing a new fully digital time registration system.

My ability to see the other perspective, seize optimal timing and action-orientation leads to lasting change and continuous developments for clients.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
