I’m a Non-Executive Director on the Trustee Board and joined Hatmill at a point when the company had grown rapidly and it recognised its financial procedures and systems were becoming outdated. My immediate challenge was to migrate manual and excel based systems onto a Cloud-Based Accounting Package that simplified and coordinated the efforts of a dispersed team.

Updating and implementing cloud based procedures during a time of rapid growth

I joined Hatmill at a point when the company had grown rapidly and it recognised its financial procedures and systems were becoming outdated. My immediate challenge was to migrate manual and Excel based systems onto a cloud based accounting packing that simplified and coordinated the efforts of a dispersed team.

We now maintain a real-time, accurate and comprehensive view of the business Cashflow, P & L and Balance Sheet.  The benefits of this are that we can analyse the business in multiple ways to measure performance and to retain our competitive edge.  I now take a supportive role and provide a sounding board to the Senior Management Team.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
