Hatmill recognised in UK’s Best Workplaces for Development 2024 list
Hatmill, has officially been ranked #2 UK's Best Workplaces for Development™ 2024 by Great Place To Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.
Hatmill has officially been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development™ 2024 by Great Place To Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.
The listed workplaces offer employees the chance to better themselves, to learn new skills, and to progress within the organisation.
By being included in the List, the companies have demonstrated they understand that development is not one-size fits all, and they actively support every single employee to undertake their own tailored journey of growth. Because of this, their people are fuelled by a sense of purpose, feel valued by their employer, and give their best to the organisation.
Hatmill’s inclusion on this exclusive list officially acknowledges the ongoing commitment to development, innovation and employee growth. Every member of the team has a one to one coaching session every month. It’s totally confidential and allows the team member to be open and honest about their development, struggles and achievements.
Hatmill’s culture matches that of ‘Teal’ businesses as researched by Fredrick La Loux in his book “Reinventing Organisations”.
As a ‘Teal’ organisation, Hatmill’s operating model is non-hierarchical – and the team have significant influence over their work and personalised career development, something that has boosted staff retention, morale and wellbeing.
Innovation is a pivotal part of becoming a Best Workplace for Development – and Hatmill’s ethos of “self-management and trust” allows employees to maximise their potential and drive innovation.
Over the past year Hatmill has implemented numerous new training courses to solidify the commitment to employee development including Advanced Consulting Skills and follow on training from our highly successful Teal Culture sessions, which are key to embedding our culture and values in everything we do. The team also have twice yearly away days focused on learning and development and are also given time off for volunteering which supports individual and team development.
Earlier this year Hatmill was named as one of THE UK’s Best Workplaces™ 2024 by Great Place To Work®, the global authority on workplace culture. The company ranked runner up in the medium category (51-200 employees).
Simon Dixon, Founder and CEO said:
“I’m delighted that Hatmill has been recognised on this prestigious list. I believe Hatmill has been so successful in the programme due to our unique culture and innovative ways of working and commitment to team development.”
“Investment in the team and creating a great place to work are fundamental to my business values. Our culture and investment in people hugely influences our ability to attract and retain the very best talent in the industry.”
Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK said:
“Employee training and development isn’t just about teaching employees to do their jobs. It’s about showing employees they are valued and that there is a path of progression available. When employees don’t see opportunity, they don’t bring their best selves to work and productivity and retention will be adversely impacted.”
“Employee development is future-focused and evidences a commitment to employee’s long-term growth. It ensures your people feel valued, and feeds into the overall company culture and strategy. Each year, we recognise organisations whose thriving workplace cultures are enabling both their people and their business to flourish. Opportunities for learning and development are a crucial element of this success, which is why we’re so thrilled to be recognising this year, for the very first time, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development.
“Congratulations to Hatmill for being part of our 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List.”
To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place To Work® reviewed each company’s culture, benefits, approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from employees. These data insights are then used to benchmark each company’s employee value proposition against the culture employees actually experience. Only the businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status.
