I joined Hatmill in 2021 as an associate data analyst and visualization specialist. I have over 20 years’ experience as an independent contractor across multiple sectors working with different technologies to transform data into meaningful and intelligible visualizations.
I’m a specialist in designing and implementing robust BI solutions to enhance reporting of dynamic management information to inform executive level decision making. My strengths lie in designing and building robust dashboards to enhance reporting capabilities and visibility of performance and service metrics; eliciting and interpreting complex stakeholder requirements through effective engagement to define optimum solutions that drive delivery of business-critical projects and programmes; building and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders, clients and colleagues at all levels to ensure clear understanding and clarity of data and reports.

Recent career highlights include:

  • Worked with Fluid IT Consulting Ltd to provide reporting solutions that could inform clients of trends and highlights in their data. Used Microsoft Power BI to import, blend and model data from SQL Server databases and Excel spreadsheets to visualise sales values over time by measuring performance against forecast and budgets on interactive dashboards.
  • Engaged by Yorkshire Water Services Ltd who were undergoing a major SAP transformation programme and required support in delivering the BI stream of the programme. As an SAP Business Objects Developer I was tasked to build dashboards for the Land and Property part of the business. I developed dashboard style reporting presenting multiple charts using Web Intelligence, embedded end user interactivity within the dashboards and a created suite of supporting reports.
  • Lloyds Banking Group were implementing a new service management application to monitor incidents / changes and needed to migrate information from their out-of-service system to SAP Business Objects. I was engaged as Reporting Analyst to design and develop a new SAP Business Objects semantic layer that would provide clear insights and service metrics to the Service Availability team.
  • RWE IT UK Ltd required support in developing reporting capability for a major finance project through building a data source for finance SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) to enable modelling and forecasting. I was engaged as Business Objects Analyst Programmer to develop complex Web Intelligence and OLAP reporting for a £multi-million Finance project.

The opportunity to work with Hatmill gives me scope to best utilize my data skills so I can provide colleagues and clients with greater insights into their data to enhance informed decision making.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
